Privacy Policy

Versus Center is a product operated by Xenosparx ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use versuscenter.com, why we collect it, and your rights in relation to it.

Comparison queries. When you enter a comparison (e.g. "iPhone vs Samsung"), the query text is sent to our backend and stored in our database so the result can be cached and served to other users. Queries are not linked to your identity.

Usage counts. We record how many times a comparison page has been viewed. This is an aggregate counter — we do not record who viewed it.

Server logs. Our hosting providers (Firebase / Google Cloud and Firebase App Hosting) automatically log standard technical information, including IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps. These logs are used solely for security and operational purposes and are retained according to each provider's default retention policies (typically 30–90 days).

What we do not collect. We do not require an account to use Versus Center. We do not collect your name, email, or any other personal information unless you contact us directly. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

We use the information described above to:

• Generate and cache comparison pages so results load instantly on repeat visits.
• Monitor performance and fix technical issues.
• Detect and prevent abuse (e.g. excessive automated requests).

Our lawful basis for processing under GDPR is legitimate interests — specifically, operating and improving the service. We do not process personal data for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.

We rely on the following third parties to operate the service:

• Google Firebase / Firestore — database and cloud functions hosting. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
• Firebase App Hosting — web hosting and CDN. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
• Anthropic — AI model that generates comparison content. Your query text is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the comparison. Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy
• Amazon Associates — some comparison pages include affiliate links to Amazon. If you click an affiliate link, Amazon may set cookies on your browser. Amazon's privacy policy applies: amazon.com/privacy
• Wikimedia Commons — we fetch publicly licensed images via Wikipedia's API. No personal data is shared with Wikimedia.

Versus Center does not set cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts that follow you across websites.

Your browser's local storage may be used to remember preferences (such as the selected theme). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Third-party affiliate links (Amazon) may result in Amazon setting cookies on your browser when you click them. This is governed by Amazon's cookie policy.

Comparison results are stored in our database indefinitely so they can be cached and served quickly. Query text is not personal data, but if you believe a query you submitted should be removed, you can contact us and we will evaluate the request.

Server logs held by Firebase and Google Cloud are retained according to their default policies (typically 30–90 days).

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Erasure — request deletion of personal data we hold about you.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
• Complaint — lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Because we do not collect personal information beyond server logs (held by third-party providers), most of these rights will be directed to those providers. For requests related to data we control directly, contact us at privacy@versuscenter.com.

Versus Center is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
